Regular grooming will depend on your dog but as a general rule it is recommended 6-8 weeks for shorter cuts, 4-6 weeks for longer cuts, 8-10 for bath and tidies/desheds depending on how much fun (or trouble) your pup gets up to! We can always give a recommendation once we work with you as well.

As soon as you can! Usually we will start with a puppy intro to get your pup used to being in the salon, especially with the ones that will require regular grooms.
We generally recommended once they have at least their second round of shots (usually around 10 weeks).

We ask for about 1.5-4 hours with every appointment, depending on size, coat type, coat condition, temperament (some dogs need extra breaks, may be nervous with the dryers) etc. We do not force your pups though grooms, so each appointment will differ. You will receive a phone call or text once we are finished!
We ask that you do not stay for the groom. This helps minimize distractions and allows our groomers to focus on providing the best care possible. Rest assured that your pup is in good hands, and our experienced team will make every effort to ensure a positive and stress-free grooming experience.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a calm and secure environment for all pets under our care.

It happens to the best of us! We believe in comfort first, so we do not de-mat matted dogs. Small areas may be spot shaved to accomplish the cut you are looking for, while other instances may result in a short cut all over. Our groomers will go over length beforehand so there will be no surprises upon pickup.
Matting in a dog's coat can pose various concerns, both for the pet's comfort and overall health.
Mats can pull on the skin, causing discomfort and pain for the dog. Tight mats may restrict movement and make it uncomfortable for the dog to walk or lie down.
Mats can trap moisture and create a humid environment close to the skin, leading to skin irritation and potential infections. Skin issues can arise when air or blood circulation is hindered by the presence of mats and can result in hematomas, especially on the ears.
Mats can trap dirt, debris, and even feces, creating a hygiene concern. A matted coat is more difficult to keep clean and may lead to unpleasant odors.
Severe matting can contribute to or exacerbate existing health problems, especially if it affects mobility or interferes with normal bodily functions.
But not to worry, once all the matting is gone we can work towards the cut you are looking for with regularly scheduled appointments that meet you and your dogs needs!

Our advice is to do your own research before deciding to shave your double coated dog.
Shaving a double coat may alter the regrowth pattern, leading to irregular and improper coat development, or can even lead to no regrowth at all. Shaving can sometimes lead to changes in the texture and color of the coat as well. This can affect the dog's overall coat health and appearance.
Shaving a double coat too close to the skin may cause irritation, as the undercoat often protects the skin. Cutting too close can expose the skin to potential irritants and increase the risk of dermatological issues.
Double coats act as insulation, helping dogs stay warm in cold weather and cool in hot weather. Shaving the coat removes this natural insulation, potentially making the dog more susceptible to temperature extremes and sunburn.
Maintaining a healthy double coat requires proper grooming techniques, such as regular brushing and undercoat removal. Shaving might be seen as a shortcut that doesn't address the underlying grooming needs of the coat.

We are open to accommodating such situations on a case-by-case basis. If your pup has specific requirements due to age or health concerns, please feel free to discuss them with us.
We will do our best to work collaboratively with you to ensure the comfort and well-being of your pup. While we strive to accommodate a wide range of pets, there may be instances where, due to specific circumstances or considerations, we are unable to provide suitable care for a particular dog.
Our primary goal is to ensure the safety and happiness of all pets entrusted to our care, and we appreciate your understanding in these situations.

We love to hear from you!
If you have any questions please give us a call or send us a message through our contact page
Please bring your pup in on a leash and minimize nose to nose contact in reception area. This ensures safety of all pets as we are close to Glenmore reservoir, and not all doggies want to say hello!
If your pup is sick please stay at home! Let us know as soon as possible so we can reschedule you once everyone is feeling their best.
Please arrive on time, and let us know if you are running late. Sometimes we can get busy and even 15 minutes late can affect groom times for the rest of the day. Late fees may apply.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours notice. No call/no shows or last minute cancellations may result in a cancellation fee to be paid upon next appointment.
While we will always do our best, sometimes we may not be able to safely continue a groom. We kindly request pet owners to be mindful of their pet's well-being. In certain cases, where a pet is unable to tolerate handling, is in advanced age, or experiencing significant health issues, we reserve the right to assess the situation and, if necessary, stop the groom and discuss alternative arrangements for the best interests of both the pet and our services.
Sometimes grooming can reveal health issues such as skin conditions, ear infections, or medical concerns that may require veterinary care. Our groomers will inform you of anything we may find, but cannot diagnose or treat these symptoms.
We do not offer flea/tick/lice treatments, if your dog is found with any of the above we will give you a call to come pick up, and can reschedule once proper treatment is administered.
